Department of Pathology is a service department. Histopathology, Cytology, Clinical Pathology, Haematology and Blood Bank falls under the purview of the department, functioning at Hospital building.
The department has two demonstration rooms equipped with slide projector, OHP and Trinocular microscope with camera attached. The Museum has about 350 specimens with catalogues of description available. Department library has more than 150 books for the students’ academic pursuit.
The number of faculty in accordance with norms of MCI. Hence, the desired student teacher ratio is maintained. The faculties are actively involved in conducting integrated teaching, small group teaching, problem based learning and E-learning apart from interactive lectures and practical sessions.
The department regularly updates the parents about the attendance and academic performance of the students. Also regular student feedback and parent teacher meeting is conducted. Students regularly participate in Conferences, Paper presentation and Research projects. More than 8 ICMR projects have been selected from the department.
The central laboratory is well equipped with modern Cell Counter, Coagulometer, Quantitative Buffy Coat and Automatic Tissue Processor and works round the clock.
Blood bank works round the clock and ensures optimal utilization of donor blood, which is collected, and is separated into components.
