Back ground

Tagore Education Trust was formed in 1997 by the Chairperson Professor M. Mala, M.A.,M.Phil., an Educationist and Philanthropist. Trust is pledged to the noble task of offering state of the art higher education in the field of Medicine, Engineering and Humanities. The Trust has already earned years of enviable reputation by establishing Institutions offering quality education. In keeping with this objective, the Trust started Tagore Medical College and Hospital in the year 2010 to train young men and women as dedicated, high skilled medical professional committed with noble task of serving the community.

This Citizen’s Charter is an expression of our commitment towards making our working and facilities more transparent to our valued patients and general public. It is our attempt to bring the institute closer to the society.

This charter seeks to provide:

  • A framework which enables the general public to know about the services available in this hospital
    Quality of services that the patients can access.
  • The means through which complaints regarding denial or poor quality of service will be redressed.

Vision

  • Tagore Medical College & hospital seeks to be a centre of excellence in medical education, research, and healthcare services at the national and international level. The medical college has 150 seats of MBBS and has been running successfully since 2010. The medical college has well qualified and experienced faculty and staff that impart quality education to the medical students. Our vision is to provide enriched education so as to instill high morals & ethics of this noble profession in the upcoming young doctors.

Access to services

This is a general hospital. It provides medical care to all patients who come to hospital. Emergency services are available 24 x 7 without any discrimination. The management of this hospital is responsible for ensuring the delivery of services.

Staff uniform

Doctors wear white aprons and nurses are in uniform. All staff wear a badge or an identification card of TMC&H

Casualty & Emergency Services

  • All Emergency Services are available round the clock
  • Specialist doctors are available on call
  • Emergency services are available for all specialities as listed in the OPD Services
  • Referral Services to higher centre in case facilities for treatment are not available in the hospital
  • Round the clock ambulance services with basic life support
  • In serious cases, treatment/management gets priority over paper work like registration and medico-legal requirements. The decision rests with the treating doctor.

Indoor Patient Services

Medicines & Consumables:

  • Medicines and surgical consumables required for the treatment can be procured from the in-house pharmacy.
  • A central pharmacy is located in the hospital premises which functions 24/7

Housekeeping & linen:

  • Hospital provides linen to wear for all admitted patients. In case of any difficulty you may contact the nurse in-charge of the floor.

Food services

  • Diet – The hospital dietary department provides all meals for the patient. The Dietitian plans the diet based on individual therapeutic needs. Our kitchen is well equipped to serve healthy balanced vegetarian meals. Dietician visits all the patients and in consultation with treating physician and advice provides the therapeutic and non-therapeutic diet.
  • Canteen – TMCH provides a canteen for visitors as well as for Staff.

Food services

  • Wheel Chairs and stretchers are available on request at any point.
  • Lifts are available for access to higher floors
  • There is a stand-by generator to cater to emergency services in case of breakdown of electricity.
  • ATM center is available at hospital premises
  • Adequate drinking water and toilet facilities are available.

Prayer hall

  • Temple is located just in front of the medical college with all its tranquility and serenity. It’s open all the time.

Patients Responsibilities

  • Please do not cause inconvenience to other patients.
  • Please help us in keeping the hospital and its Surroundings neat and clean.
  • Beware of Touts. If you find any such person in premises tell the hospital authorities.
  • The Hospital is a “No Smoking Zone” and smoking is a Punishable Offence.
  • Please cooperate with the hospital administration for normalizing the situation in case of an emergency.
  • Please ensure that vehicles are not parked in” No parking area” and they do not hinder emergency cases from immediate and quick access to the emergency department
  • Please provide useful feedback & constructed suggestions. These may be addressed to the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital.
