ACTIVITIES PERFORMED :
1. A brief introduction about MR vaccine and Special campaign about MR vaccination– Dr. HemitaJoeline
- Measles and Rubella are contagious disease
- Measles leads to complications like pneumonia & diarrhea
- Rubella causes Congenital Rubella Syndrome in pregnant women.
- Special campaign which is going to held on February 2017 1st wk – schools, 2nd & 3rd wk – Anganwadi , Outreach centre, Health centres, 4th wk – missed areas.
2. About Congenital Rubella Syndrome, age group for vaccination and its safety – Dr. Jayashree. SS
- CRS: Affects pregnant women and causes blindness, mental retardation, liver disorders, deafness and cardiac disorders.
- Age: 9months to 15 years.
- No adverse effects
- Contraindications: children with high fever, h/o allergy of rubella vaccination in the past.
