Tagore Medical College and Hospital welcomed The Class of 2016, in an Induction Program conducted in college Auditorium, on October 3rd, 2016.
The program started with Prayer song rendered by 2nd Year medicos, followed by Lighting of Lamp by the dignitaries on stage, including Respected Chairperson, Mrs.Mala, MA MPhil, Dr.Shanta, MD, PhD Dean, TMCH, Dr. Thiru Narayanan, MS, Medical Superintendent, TMCH and representatives of parents and students.
In the segment titled “Pursuing Excellence in Medical Education: History and Achievements”, Dean introduced to the audience with a photo-essay showcasing the state-of-art infrastructure and learning facilities present in Tagore Medical College. Later, the Medical College faculty were introduced by Dean.
Dr. Thiru Narayanan, MS, Medical Superintendent, emphasized on the professional code of conduct for doctors in his session “Serving with Humanity” and also introduced the clinical team working in Tagore Hospital to the gathering.
In a warm gesture, 2nd MBBS medicos invited The Class of 2016 by offering a fragrant, beautiful red rose as a symbol of love as their bond in this college.
Extolling the discipline standards enforced in the campus, Dr.VetriRaj, Professor, department of Radiology, presented TMCH-Rules and Regulations for the benefit of both parents and students. The message that Tagore is a RAGGING FREE ZONE was impressed upon the audience.
Mrs. Mala, Chairperson of Tagore group of Institutes, in her address titled “My Vision for Today’s Medicos and Future Doctors”-welcomed the class of 2016 and in her brief message called upon them to BE PASSIONATE in their learning and journey to become future doctors.
The most cherished moment for both parents and students was “White Coat-Oath Ceremony”-for Fresher’s which was conducted by Dr. HemaLatha, Associate Professor, department of ENT, and all the students participated enthusiastically in undertaking the oath which officially initiated their adventurous journey into the world of medicine as torch bearers of healing the suffering of mankind.
Second MBBS students, Ms.Ratna and Mr. Kishore Kumar shared their experiences in “Journey So Far” which eased the feeling of ‘newness’ among the new entrants. In ““Future Forward”, segment, Mr.Gokul and Ms.Roshini shared their excitement in joining Tagore institute and their dreams waiting to be unfold in the future. Mr.Mohandoss, a proud parent of his daughter who joined today, shared his views on his association with Tagore Medical College and also expressed strong faith and confidence vested with the institute in shaping the youngsters as future doctors entrusted in its care.
Chairperson felicitated Dean, Medical Superintendent for their tireless efforts in the smooth functioning of the institute and also welcomed Ms. Karishma, Fresher by presenting them with floral bouquets.
Dr.BalaMurugan, Prof and HOD of department of Pathology, proposed Vote of Thanks and the program was concluded with the gathering rising for National Anthem
