An awareness program on coronavirus (COVID-19) was conducted by the department at Government High School, Rathinamangalam on 13.2.2020. Professor and Head-Dr.R.G.Sukumar  briefed the students in the beginning. Then other staff members talked on the following topics. Videos on hand washing and personal hygiene were projected.

Another awareness program on coronavirus (COVID-19) was conducted at Tagore Medical College Hospital on 14.2.2020 at 10 AM. It was mainly focused on the OP patients and their attendants and other staff members. 2nd-year MBBS students (September 2019 batch) performed 2 skits on awareness and hand washing. Videos on hand washing and personal hygiene were projected. The Dean, Medical Superintendant, and staff members of various departments were present on the occasion.
