The Tagore College of Pharmacy is established in 2019 with B.Pharmacy degree course. The course has been approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu, AICTE and by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and Affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. The course is supplemented by a refreshing breath of co-curricular and extracurricular activities to gain expertise not only in technical aspects, but also acquire personality excellence and leadership qualities that are vital to excel in a competitive world. Curriculum of the Undergraduate program inculcates students with skills and techniques in the field of pharmacy, besides a strong foundation in mathematics, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, business management, and instrumentation and computer education. They will also gain practical experience from field visits to Pharmaceutical industries, hospitals and Pharmaceutical research laboratories.<\/p>\n

The College Library known as \u201cINFORMATION CENTRE\u201d is located at the first floor of the College building in a clean and quiet atmosphere. The centre is well furnished with wooden reading tables with separate lighting system and comfortable chairs, journals & new arrival display racks and one charging and discharging counter. The library has huge collection of about 1800 books, pharmaceutical journals, encyclopedias, dictionaries, indexes, manuals, periodicals of various pharmaceutical disciplines. It subscribes to more than 10 National and 10 International journals of Pharmacy.<\/p>\n
The library is computerized by the Library Management Software \u201cAuto- lib\u201d to achieve the accuracy and speed up the transactions. The software supports Barcode Technology. Internet facilities give students access to online journals and databases. The library computers also have special software packages useful for research in pharmacy, including graph pad, excel worksheet, chem. office, and chem. window.<\/p>\n
Laboratories and facilities<\/h3>\n
The College has 10 laboratories belonging to Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacy Practice departments and Computer lab etc. The laboratories are well equipped with air ventilation facilities. <\/p>\n
Industrial support <\/h3>\n
Tagore College of Pharmacy close ties with industries, Hospitals and Research laboratories through consultancies, visits and student projects. Friendly relations exist with Orchid Health Care, Tablets India and Fourts India Pharma Companies. <\/p>\n
Other Facilities<\/h3>\n
The college has a Diesel Generator to provide power supply to the Department and Laboratories in times of power supply failure.<\/p>\n
One extension counter of Punjab National Bank ATM Facility is available for the students to help them in financial transactions. <\/p>\n
An open auditorium and a multipurpose hall with about 300 seating capacity is available in the campus. This facility is being used for conducting Exam, various functions and meetings as well as indoor games. <\/p>\n
The college has its own fleet of vehicles for the transport of students from various locations of Chennai city and suburbs to the college premises so as to enable them to reach the college in time and also to return home comfortably. This arrangement helps them to maintain punctuality and also to have a safe travel.<\/p>\n
The Management has provided well furnished accommodation to the students to enable them to concentrate well on their studies. There are separate blocks for girls and boys, consisting of hostel buildings. Each block consists of separate warden room, internet room, visitors room, dining hall etc.,<\/p>\n
A canteen functions from 8.00 am to 5.00 p.m. for the benefit of students and staff within the College premises. <\/p>\n
As strong believers in \u2018Team Play\u2019, our focus is on collaboration instead of competition resulting in National\/International MoUs to foster teaching-learning, research through faculty\/student exchange, consultancy, training programs, etc.<\/p>\n
