General Medicine department has five units headed by one Professor and four Associate Professors with 150 beds for inpatient and daily outpatients services.<\/p>\n
The department is fully equipped to handle all medical emergencies in IMCU and ICCU.<\/p>\n
Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Diabetes and Hypertension special clinics provide services to public in this area. All the special clinics are well equipped with latest tests and equipments in each specialty.<\/p>\n
The first two batch of medical students secured 100% pass in General Medicine final MBBS. One student scored \u201cH\u201d (Honours) rank in General Medicine and 5 students scored \u201cD\u201d (Distinction) in the examination conducted by The Dr. MGR Medical University.<\/p>\n
The Professors assist Medical Students in ICMR Projects every Year.<\/p>\n
Further the department conducted CME Programmes on Rabies, Diabetes, Preventive Cardiology, Epilepsy, and Acute Medical Emergencies, Critical care Medicine, Acute and chronic kidney diseases and exhibition on diet and physical activity for diabetics. Professors and experts from various medical colleges have delivered excellent lectures in the above mentioned CME programmes.<\/p>\n
The CRRI\u2019S are well trained in all the fields of emergency medicine, Inpatient and Out Patient services so that they can serve needy public both in Government service and in Private practices.<\/p>\n
