He has 28 \u00bd years of Teaching Experience in Forensic Medicine and he was the DEAN of 5 different Govt. Medical College and Hospitals in Tamil Nadu for a total period of 6 years. He retired on superannuation in the year 2013 and thereafter working in Tagore Medical College and Hospital now.<\/p>\n\n--><\/p>\n<p>We teach the II MBBS students for 18 months in Forensic Medicine including Medical Jurisprudence and Toxicology. There are 2 Lecture classes and 2 Practical classes, all 1 hour each per week.<\/p>\n<p>In the Lecture classes we cover all the Theoritical aspects of the subjects and in the Practical classes we teach them by Demonstration  and instructions for filling up and writing all Medico- Legal forms and Certificates with regard to: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Examination of Injuries and issue of Wound Certificate <\/li>\n<li>Examination of cluster of bones.<\/li>\n<li>Age estimation by Physical, Dental, and Radiological Examination.<\/li>\n<li>Examination for Drunkenness. <\/li>\n<li>Medico- Legal Examination of foetus.<\/li>\n<li>Sexual offence cases.<\/li>\n<li>Viscera Packing <\/li>\n<li>Interpretation of Medico- Legal certificates including Post Mortem Certificates etc. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We also show them and explain the features and Medico- Legal importance of all specimens weapons, poisons, plants etc. Training is given for OSPE too. We valuate their Practical Records meticulously and include the record marks in IA marks. <\/p>\n<p>Periodically we conduct Seminars and symposia for small groups on different topics also<\/p>\n<p>We conduct CME atleast once every Academic year and last year`s CME on Current Medico- legal Issues was conducted on 12.08.2015., the topics being,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collection of Medico- Legal evidences in living individuals,<\/li>\n<li>Refusal in treatment of Medico- Legal cases in Private Health Sector, <\/li>\n<li>Examination of sexual assault victim \u2013 as per recent guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Euthanasia. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Head of the Department and three speakers from outside spoke and it was a grand success.<\/p>\n<p>Since we donot undertake Post Mortems and Medico \u2013 legal cases Examination like Sexual Offence Cases, Age estimation cases etc. we have a tie up with the Govt. Chengalpattu Medical College for training the students in these areas.
