On November 5th 2019,Department of Community Medicine, commemorated World Diabetes day was at GGN International school for the teachers, regarding Prevention and Awareness about Diabetes. Dr.Balaji,Professor and Head gave awareness talk to the participants.Dr.Karthik,Assistant Professor also took part in the event.Around 50 participants were given health education<\/p>\n

<\"World<\/center>On November 14th 2019,Department of Community Medicine, commemorated World Diabetes day atHospital Corridor,Tagore Medical College and Hospital, through a health talk and role play by second year MBBS students under the guidance of Dr.Balaji,Professor and Head..Dr.Suganya.E,Assistant Professor gave health education<\/p>\n

Department of community medicine conducted a diabetic health awareness session under the supervision of Dr.A.Balaji, HOD& professor and Dr.Karthik, Asst. professor at sreevashtha Vivekananda senior higher secondary school on 19-10-19. Dr.A. Balaji gave overview about Diabetes and its complication and life style modifications. Total no. of beneficiaries-84.<\/p>\n

Rural health training centre, Dept. of Community Medicine conducted dengue awareness programme among self help group women in two various places respectively Tiruporur and kelambakkam on 26-10-19. Dr.Radhakrishnan A, Asst.Professor has given awareness about signs and symptoms of dengue and how to prevent that.<\/p>\n

Department of Community Medicine has conducted SwachhtaPakhwada 2019- Sep 1 to 15(A central government initiative under Ministry of Human Resource Development, as a part of SWACHH BHARAT MISSIONin both the urban and rural health centres and in the field practice area.<\/p>\n

[metaslider id=”5301″]<\/center>2. Department of community medicine conducted a diabetes health camp and diabetic awareness session under the supervision of Dr.A.Balaji, HOD& professor. And also conducted blood donation camp at on 06-09-19 at Tamilnadu Sports University, kandigai.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr.Mahesh oral pathologist from Tagore dental college gave hands on training to CRRIs for sample collection.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Department of community medicine conducted a diabetic health awareness session under the supervision of Dr.A.Balaji, HOD& professor and Dr.Karthik, Asst.professor at Vivekananda Matric higher secondary school on 17-09-19. Dr. Balaji sir gave overview about Diabetes and its complication and life style modifications.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"health<\/center>6. To celebrate the 1st anniversary of PMJAY, Ayushman Bharat scheme a walkathon was organized by Governmat of Tamil NaduinElliots Beach, Adyar Chennai. Tagore Medical college 2nd year students of 140 students actively participated in a 5 km Walkathon. Dr.GaneshSA , Associate professor coordinated and accompanied the students.<\/strong><\/p>\n

State Level Essay Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n

S.Divyadharshini<\/b> of 112 batch have bagged second prize in state level essay writing competition on World Health Day theme \u201cDepression Let\u2019s Talk\u201d<\/strong> conducted by Indian Medical Association, Tamilnadu on 8th July 2017. She was awarded with a certificate of achievement, a pendrive and cash prize of Rs.5,000. She received the prize from Dr.Vijaya Baskar, Hon\u2019ble Health minister of Tamilnadu and Dr.Radhakrishnan, Hon\u2019ble Health Secretary of Tamilnadu. The student was trained and motivated by the department of community medicine.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/center>A. Afrin Khanam, J. Antony Eniga, MS. Ashik Ali of 112 Batch<\/b> have secured 3rd place in \u201cInter collegiate Inter State Quiz Competition titled Swachh Bharat\u201d<\/b> conducted by Saveetha Medical College on 07th July 2017.They were awarded with certificate of achievement , Medal and three medical text book.<\/p>\n

They competed with students of 24 medical colleges from various part of India. Preliminary round was conducted and our students emerged as the first team to qualify for final quiz with maximum marks. The students were trained and motivated by the department of community medicine.<\/p>\n
